being a B Corp: Community

We firmly believe in the importance of actively considering our impact on the world as individuals, as a company and as part of the consulting sector as a whole. Being an accredited B Corp means we review the overall impact we have as a company and are held accountable for maintaining the high standards required, encouraging us to consistently ask ourselves whether we can be better.

Following our recent accreditation –as featured by the MCA and Consultancy UK and you can read our announcement here – we are taking a closer look at what having a positive impact means to us and our people.

We’ll focus on the five areas assessed by B Lab one by one. Starting here with community.

The Community Impact section of the B Corp assessment evaluated our contribution to the economic and social well-being of the communities in which we operate through topics such as diversity and inclusion, job creation, civic engagement and philanthropy, supply chain management, and more.

Over the last couple of years Hannah Crossley, Principal, has led our corporate sustainability program. She has helped engage the organisation around new ways of thinking to put our impact front and centre. She has driven implementation of community-focused initiatives such as payroll giving, volunteering days, pro-bono support, and fundraising events for our nominated charities each year. She also gets personally involved, having recently cycled from London to Brighton with our Egremont Group team to raise money for Mind.

For me, community is about coming together for a greater good. A thing that really appealed to us was becoming part of this community of businesses that wanted to use business as a force for good. We’re always looking for opportunities to improve and to learn from and work with other B Corps to have a positive impact on the world around us.'

In 2020, our 20th year, we’re determined to challenge ourselves and do more to support communities and give back than ever before.

How our people give back
One of the things we’re most proud of is that our people share our commitment as an organisation to bettering the world around us. We actively encourage our team to do so by giving them additional leave to invest in community initiatives.
